about

Have you ever made love on a geological anomaly?

Julia & the Deep Sea Sirens’ latest single Lake George poses a bold question - a quirky pickup line they’ll be trying out on audiences across the Australia on their upcoming national tour.

Written after a dream (or so Julia maintains…) Lake George sees the band using their traditional folk instruments as pop-drenched Cupid arrows in a sex-positive ode to Australia’s (or the world’s?) most mysterious disappearing lake.

lyrics

LAKE GEORGE

Don't you think we've been sitting on this couch
Under this fruit tree for long enough tonight?

I feel rude sitting here just us two
When this couch could easily seat five

I've got much more to say to you
But I can't say it here cos I'm much too shy
If you've got more to say to me too
Meet me out the front, I'll drive

Have you ever made love on a geological anomaly?
Me neither
Have you ever star-gazed on your back on a lake bad?
Nor have I

So close your eyes and walk out straight
There's nothing to run into on a dried up lake
Don't fall behind, don't hesitate
Don't stop til you can't hear the highway

You take my hand and turn and stop
Dunno if I should kiss you or not
I look at you with your eyes still shut

Oh
Imagine, if all the water came flooding back right now
oOOohhhh
Ghostly waves wash over us
Ancient currents sweep us together somehow

Have you ever made love on a geological anomaly?
Me neither
have you ever star-gazed on your back on a lake bad?
Nor have I

Let's drive to Lake George tonight
Let's drive to Lake George tonight

have you ever? have you ever?
have you ever? have you ever?
have you ever? have you ever?
have you ever? have you ever?
